Terms of service

Fair terms, plainly put.

Last updated: November 2, 2026

These terms cover the Ripply browser extension, the Ripply website, your optional Ripply account and the paid Plus and Pro plans. By installing Ripply or buying a plan you agree to them. The short version: Ripply is free to use, paid plans renew until you cancel, you can cancel any time, and your notes stay yours.

1. Who we are

Ripply is made and operated by Raj Rawat, a sole proprietor based in India ("Ripply", "we", "us"). Contact details are in section 13 and on the contact page.

2. The service

Ripply lets you highlight text on web pages and pin sticky notes beside those highlights. It works without an account, with everything stored in your browser. If you sign in, your highlights and notes sync between the browsers you are signed in to. Paid plans unlock extra note themes and, on Pro, export. The privacy policy says what data is involved.

3. Your account

You can create an account with Google or an email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that email or Google account secure. You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live) to create an account, and at least 18, or have a guardian's consent, to buy a plan.

4. Plans and prices

Free covers everything you need to highlight, take notes and sync. Plus and Pro are optional subscriptions:

PlanWhat it addsIndia (incl. GST)Elsewhere (USD)
FreeUnlimited highlights, notes, search and sync; 2 note themes₹0$0
PlusAll note themes₹199 a month or ₹1,499 a year$4.99 a month or $39 a year
ProAll themes, PDF and share export, new features first₹399 a month or ₹3,499 a year$9.99 a month or $79 a year

Prices in India include GST. Outside India, Paddle, our merchant of record, may add VAT or sales tax at checkout where it applies and may show the price in your local currency. The exact amount is shown before you confirm payment.

5. Automatic renewal

Paid plans renew automatically. A monthly plan renews every month and a yearly plan renews every year, on the same date you first paid, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. By subscribing you authorise the renewal charges:

If a renewal payment fails, Razorpay or Paddle retries it for a few days. If it keeps failing, your plan lapses and you return to Free; nothing is deleted.

6. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from Account → Plan inside Ripply, or by cancelling the mandate in your UPI app or bank, or from the link on your Paddle receipt. Cancelling stops future charges. You keep the paid features until the end of the period you already paid for, then your plan returns to Free. Your highlights and notes are never removed; notes on a paid theme are shown on the default theme instead.

7. Refunds

Refunds are described in the cancellation and refund policy, which is part of these terms. In short: a first yearly payment can be refunded in full within 7 days; monthly payments are not refunded.

8. Price changes

We may change prices for new subscribers at any time. For an existing plan we give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a higher price applies, and it only applies from your next renewal after that notice. If you don't agree, cancel before the renewal.

9. Payment processors

Payments are processed by Razorpay (India), Paddle through RevenueCat (outside India) and Apple (Safari). They handle your card, UPI or bank details under their own terms; Ripply never receives those details. For purchases outside India, Paddle is the seller of record and its buyer terms also apply.

10. Your content

Your highlights and notes belong to you. You give us only the permission needed to store and sync them for you. Don't use Ripply to store content that is unlawful or that you don't have the right to keep. We may suspend an account that abuses the service, for example by sending a flood of requests or trying to break into other accounts, after telling you why.

11. The software

Ripply, its name, logo and note designs are ours or our licensors'. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the extension. We work hard to keep Ripply reliable, but it is provided "as is": we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or that every page will highlight perfectly, and we are not liable for indirect losses. For paying users, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other law that cannot be excluded.

12. Ending the service

You can delete your account from Account → Delete account in Ripply, which cancels any active plan and deletes your data as described in the privacy policy. If we ever discontinue paid plans, we will refund the unused part of any yearly plan.

13. Grievances and contact

As required by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, our grievance officer is:

We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within one month. You can also write to us at the address on the contact page.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in [City], India have jurisdiction over any dispute, without limiting your right to bring a consumer complaint where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters to you, we will email account holders at least 14 days before the change applies and update the date at the top of this page.
